Clingy fabric and too heavy for hot weather

This top is a beautiful color, just as pictured and it has a really cute arm cutout. But it is a heavy fabric and is a little too clingy for me, especially with the heaviness of the fabric. I really wanted this top, but it will be too hot to wear in Florida humidity. I had to return. I wear a S and that is what I ordered, but it is tight. I feel like if I ordered a M, the armholes would be too big. It looks loose in the picture, which made me think it would have a looser fit, but it doesn't. It is stretchy, but just not for me.
